David Raymond Bedding
(May 27, 1941 – April 12, 2014)

David Raymond Bedding Ph.D., 72, of Middlefield beloved husband of Paula Alice (DeBarba) Bedding, died Saturday, April 12, 2014 at his home.

He was born in Bridgeport the son of the late Raymond and Natalie (Nakoneczny) Bedding.

David was an Associate Professor of Physics at the University of Connecticut. He received his bachelors’ degree from Fairfield University, his Masters from Clark University and his Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut. He was past president of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP), president of the Emeritus Assembly and Vice President of the Connecticut State Conference-AAUP.

Besides his wife, David is survived by a daughter, Amanda Bedding of Middlefield, and a son, David Bedding of Middlefield, brothers and sisters-in-laws Eric and Ali DeBarba of Haddam, Connie Lundy and Peter Knight of Burkettville, ME and John and Lisa DeBarba of Wolcott, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Biega Funeral Home 3 Silver Street, Middletown. Burial will be held at Middlefield Cemetery.
