THE CONNECTICUT STATE CONFERENCE-AAUP ANNUAL SPRING MEETING

Professor Caprice Lawless

Organizing Against All Odds

The Elm City Club (formerly The Grad Club), 155 Elm Street, New Haven, CT. Friday, May 8, 2020, 4:30-9:00 pm

The Annual Spring Meeting of the Connecticut State Conference-AAUP will focus on organizing higher ed faculty. Professor Lawless’ unorthodox approach produces remarkable results. She employs ingenious strategies to highlight issues of shared        governance, due process, and academic freedom for part-time faculty. The Adjunct Cook Book, The Adjunct Coloring Book, and Campus Equity Week demonstrations are examples of her inventive approaches. She is an outspoken advocate for fair and equal treatment for part-time faculty. She teaches rhetoric and writing at Front Range Community College in Colorado, and is the national AAUP First Vice President, and chairs the national AAUP Committee on Contingency and the Profession.
